Reflecting on 2020.
Who would have guessed when we welcomed in 2020, in what feels like a blink ago, we’d have gone through a whole world pandemic? Where now phrases such as ‘lockdown’, ‘bubbles’ and ‘furlough’ have become a normal part of our vocabulary.
As we look ahead at welcoming in a new year, this is the perfect opportunity for reflection.
From giving the brain a moment to pause amidst the clutter of thoughts, to increasing creativity and confidence ,there is lots of evidence to support the benefits of reflection. Especially when this year has been a challenging one, taking some time to reflect has been shown to help us in many ways.
Self-reflection in essence it is about taking a step back, and taking a moment to pause. There are many ways to practice reflection, from journalling, meditation and exercising. One of our favourites is taking a mindful walk along the Cornish coast, and taking a moment to watch the waves, and pause.
As we get ready to welcome the new year, why not take a few days away to fully relax, unwind and pause? After a hectic year, it is just what we need to be revitalised for 2021.
