Why Explore The Lizard in November

The Lizard Peninsular is one of the best kept secrets here in the UK. From beautiful beaches, epic coastal walks, and wildlife. With Christmas fast approaching, November is the perfect opportunity to explore this wild coastline, before the arrival of the festive rush.

Why Explore The Lizard in November

  1. Warm Oceans

Although we love and embrace all the seasons, autumn is one of our favourites. From the vibrant array of orange and reds along the shoreline, with its epic sunrises and colour washed sunsets, it’s also the best time to sea swim. When we think of sea swimming our immediate thought is summer being the best time, but it’s actually when the sea is at one of it’s coldest…Post a summer of sunshine, the sea has heated up and now at its warmest from October to November.

  2. WildLife

The Lizard is home too many exciting wildlife. From our iconic Cornish Chough’s, with their black bodies and characteristic orange peak and legs. To seals, sunning themselves on the beaches, and sometimes even swimming with us amongst the waves. November is a busy time for wildlife, before they get set to hibernate for winter. So come catch them before the slumber of winter.

It’s a particularly wondrous time for us bird lovers, with the arrival of the great bird migration at Lizard Point.

  3. South West Coastal Path

The South West Coastal Path is England's longest waymarked long-distance footpath and a National Trail. For us, November is one of the best times to walk it. When it comes to crowds, the footpaths is at one of its quietest, post a busy summer, and before the festive rush. The weather also isn’t yet completely covered in a cloud of grey, with many sunny crisp days still ahead, it’s at that perfect peak before the winter winds arrive.

  4. Delicious Food

Autumn is a delicious time when it comes to harvests. After a summer of light, zesty ingredients theres something about the first of the seasons comfort foods we all look forward too. From a Sunday Roast, a warming pumpkin soup, to a Cornish gin bramble tipple. Discover our seasonal menus here.

  5. Head Space Getaway

November is the beautiful month to slow down, to nest by the fire, and to take some time for you before the festive season. Embrace the opportunity for a headspace getaway. You can also take full advantage of our cosy season offers. Have a look here, there is something for everyone..
